From the desk of Paladin
Tal and greetings,
I just wanted to leave my readers a quick note on my progress and the development of stories in the works. Ragenta's most recent misadventure "The Assessment" has taken on more of a life that I have expected as I am nearly to the place where I usually like to cap the chapters in my stories and I am still not close to being close to the actual assessment. But at the same time I have created some interesting back story for Ragenta and some others. When I get to a place I like then I will cap Part 2 of this story and post it for your enjoyment. I will immediately start work on Part 3 and will tell you all right now there will definitely be a Part 4 to this story. As a nod to the works of the inspirational of Emma of Gor for those who have followed and read her work. Part 2 will have some similarities as well as easter eggs within it. I encourage my readers to try and find those and feel free to either simply comment that you found them or if you wish post what you think they are and I will let you know if you are right or not.
As this story is flowing smoothly right now I will likely try to have Part 2 posted no later that Tuesday July 22. And with any luck Part 3 ready for your reading enjoyment by Saturday July 26 if all goes well.
At that time I will decided if I will stay focused on just this story or if I will start book 2 of the Terra Stone adventures.
On a side note, as some of you will quickly notice. my friend Troy DM who has created such wonderful artwork to compliment the stories, has had to step away and take a break from his creations. His input and opinions have been a major help in the creation of some of these stories and it is my hope that he will remain a source of reflection and input into the writing process as he can.
Thank you TroyDM
And to anyone else out there, I am always open to listening to the views and ideas of others so just leave something in the comments and I will respond back
till next time
Paladin
How long do you like to make your chapters? I usually aim for around three thousand words as that is what Emma recommended to me?
ReplyDeleteActually I just started looking at the word counts after seeing that I just missed the chance to enter a writing contest for a local group con this fall which capped entries at 5000. Their deadline got extended and then I saw one of the other conditions was no fan fiction. Oh well. But up till now I have tried to keep the chapters at about 7-8 pages or when I have reached the spot where I want to leave it till the next chapter
DeleteAnd I thank you, too, Paladin. I had a lot of fun illustrating aspects of your writing and still enjoy reading your latest chapters. As seems to be the case, most stumbling blocks turn out to not be as bad as they seemed at first, and I am hoping to become a contributor to your blog again at some future date, though it's still uncertain as to when at this time. Thank you for your kind words.
ReplyDeleteYour most welcome. And I look forward to seeing you return. After all I would not want anyone else to do the artwork for my book when I eventually finish one. And if you have time and don't mind a spoiler or two I may reach out and bounce a couple ideas off you as to the path the stories take. Talk to you soon
